(I’m on the far right; these are my farming friends from Vermont! Breaking for lunch during our mega all-day garlic pull.)
I’m Regina. I like cooking with, reading about and growing seasonal foods. My favorite chuck-um-in-the-oven projects are whipping up batches of cookies and muffins. “Recipe exchanging” is my FAV hobby, next to ocean swimming and spacing out while using my dog (Mille) as a pillow. Cooking magazines and cookbooks are my favorite, never-dusty fixtures next to my blatting alarm clock. Plus To Kill a Mockingbird, which has to be one of the most beautiful books on the planet. I also get a kick out of food writing; some current favorites: anything Alice Waters, “Alone in the Kitchen with an Eggplant,” Deborah Madison’s cookbooks and “What We Eat When We Eat Alone,” Molly Wizenberg’s “A Homemade Life,” and Gourmet and Bon Appetit’s on the city bus-trek to the university in the mornings.

You are at the U of A? What are you taking? I would love to show you how to make yeast leven bread in exchange for some cookies/muffins/ recipes etc. Always looking for more health foodies in Oil City!
I’m going to try your beet recipe for the last summer BBQ of the year this Saturday at a friend’s house. I LOVE beets, but I’m expecting that most of the party goers will not… I’ll let you know how it goes!
