SEARCH & About

I’m Regina and I like cooking with, reading about and growing seasonal foods.

While I don’t advertise this blog as a veggie-only zone, my recipes cater solely to herbivores.  As a life-long vegetarian, I suppose I’ve never had a real craving or taste for meat.  But while I don’t notice the absence of carnivorous ingredients, you may.  Please don’t hesitate to dabble with the recipes you find here and adapt them to your taste preferences.  And if you can, perhaps take a moment to think about where your favorite foods come from.  When I’m able, I like to put my dollar (think: vote with my fork) toward a life that I feel good about supporting — farmer, rancher, vegetable and animal.

I’m going to try your beet recipe for the last summer BBQ of the year this Saturday at a friend’s house. I LOVE beets, but I’m expecting that most of the party goers will not… I’ll let you know how it goes!

Wow Regina! There is a dizzying amount of great food here. Thank you again for your wonderful family’s hospitality. I’m missing the desert already. Luckily I brought some chiltepines back to Rainier to help keep me warm. Have a great summer – don’t drink too many Eegees!

  • I’d love to rerun your Apple Cider Molasses post in our magazine. Can you contact me?

Hi Brenda, thanks so much for reaching out and for your interest in cider molasses — isn’t it so neat!? 🙂 I was just taking a peek at the website you linked to (Northeast Flavor) but had trouble tracking down an email address for you. Do you feel comfortable sharing your email with me? So many thanks! Regina
